The Competition originates mainly with the purpose to gather any young dancers coming from different countries in the world in a large meeting to Modica, within a framework of such a capacity that will allow them to live, beyond the Competition itself, in a “baroque" frame, that it is the keynote of all the project.
The Competition-meeting awards many plaques, monetary awards, above all scholarships from the National Academies that have already joined the project. The program will be rich of debates and meetings with the participants, masters, the members of the international jury and the host dancers. They represents reference models for all the participants that with a lot of efforts and renunciations dedicate their whole life to this discipline.
As far as the choreographic section, whose topic is the "baroque", dancers who will show particular abilities could be invited as choreographer for year-end Concerts of the host Academies.
ARTEM and the Partners of the project will work together to offer the young people engaged in the dance world an opportunity to change their life, an international and intercultural experience; an opportunity in order to develop expressive abilities, to reinforce personality and critical sense.
Competitions as such takes place annually in great centres of the international culture, see Paris, Moscow, Varna, Losanna etc.. These Competitions have been launched far-back and have grown in importance yearly. We wish that for the city of Modica this initiative can be a vehicle for an annual meeting to increase and fortify the image of prestige at national and international level.
